Daniel joined Jayasuriya Kah & Co. in 1983 after his call to the Bar at Lincoln’s Inn, London. He was made a Partner in 1986 and become the firm’s Managing Partner in 2016, a position he holds till today.
Daniel’s practice covers a wide range of banking, corporate and commercial work. He is frequently consulted by the State Government and its companies on legal matters. Chambers Asia Pacific 2025 has identified him as Band 1 leading corporate and commercial lawyer who “is a long standing legal practitioner with a strong market reputation in Sabah. He is well experienced at handling M&A and banking matters.”
Daniel was the President of the Sabah Law Association for three terms from 1999 to 2002. Currently, he sits as a member of the Sabah Advocates Disciplinary Board.
More recently he was appointed by the State Government to serve in the Advisory and Monitoring Committee for Statutory Bodies and Government Linked Companies with the object of improving effectiveness and corporate governance in these institutions.

EXPERIENCE
Noor began her legal career as a litigator, with experience in banking litigation, corporate insolvency, debt recovery, commercial and civil disputes, estate matters and family law, practising in these areas up until 2014.

Sylvia advises on a range of corporate and commercial matters, with a particular focus on joint venture and shareholder arrangement, project development, and
capital markets transactions. She has been involved in various corporate exercises, including initial public offerings (IPOs), acquisitions, and restructuring transactions, and has advised companies that have successfully listed on both the Main Market and ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia. Sylvia also has experience in conducting legal due diligence for listing on the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited (SGX-ST).

Chee Hang focuses on banking litigation and handles a broad spectrum of civil and commercial dispute resolution.
He regularly represents banks in recovery actions and is experienced in defending banks in contested proceedings. He notably has experience in advising banks in disputes involving purported unauthorised internet banking transactions, seizure of charged properties in execution proceedings and allegations of wrongful property foreclosures.
He worked closely with insolvency practitioners, successfully obtaining several High Court orders to facilitate the liquidation process.
